Marin Flu Surveillance Data

Marin Influenza Surveillance

Marin County Department of Health and Human Services tracks influenza activity by analyzing laboratory testing data and visits to local emergency departments for influenza-like illness.  During the influenza season, we produce an influenza surveillance report that summarizes influenza activity in Marin County, California, and the United States.
We usually observe a peak in influenza activity between late December and February.

Current Marin Influenza Activity:  2016-2017 Influenza Season

Local influenza activity began increasing during the week of December 11th, with a substantial increase in positive influenza tests during the last week of December (December 25 - 31, 2016).

This season, we will be releasing an influenza surveillance update report during the following approximate time periods:  winter 2016, early 2017, and spring 2017.
